Job Description

The Manager of Training & Organizational Development develops, manages, coordinates, and presents training and staff development programs for all levels of team members (hourly, supervisory, managers, directors, and VP’s). Confers with management and supervisory personnel to determine training needs, training methods, training times, and develop solutions. This role is responsible for developing and implementing programs that align the workforce with key business strategies and initiatives.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Formulate training programs and calendars, utilizing knowledge of identified training needs, company production process, business system or changes in products, procedures, or services. 
  • Create and implement programs at work that connect employees with business goals.
  • Develop, market, and roll out new company training and initiatives to successfully launch and execute programs.
  • Create competency models for hourly and salaried positions.
  • Develop team-building exercises and workshops.
  • Designates training procedures, utilizing knowledge of the effectiveness of such methods as individual training, group instruction, lectures, on-job-training, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.
  • Delivers training programs with skills of high energy and enthusiastic training professionals.
  • Revise and redevelop existing training programs to meet the changes in business needs. 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Operational Leaders to determine training needs and develop materials to satisfy needs.
  • Partner with Operations and HRBP’s and Recruiters to determine specific, discipline driven training strategy and curriculum to fulfill needs. 
  • Source and evaluate prepared training programs to supplement existing instructor lead programs. 
  • Administers and develops training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational material.
  • Trains assigned instructors and supervisors in effective techniques for training.     Specific on-the-job training apprenticeship programs, sales techniques, health and safety practices, public relations, refresher training, promotional development, continued education, leadership development, and succession programs.
  • Accurately accounts for training attendance records, compiles statistical reports regarding training, and shares summaries with Operations to ensure participation and ensure front line team members and leaders are performing with the expected behaviors.
  • Responsible for the continued education program, a professional development program, and succession planning.
  • Review training activities with the Director and VP of Human Resources.
  • Manages the tuition reimbursement program for hourly and salaried staff.   
  • Compile data and analyze past and current year training requirements to prepare budgets.
  • Partners with the Risk Manager to ensure the safety and security of team members and guests.  Partners with the Risk Manager to manage programs and processes to reduce and control loss time injuries.  Member of the Safety Committee representing Human Resources.   
  • Partner with Employment Team on ensuring all new hires attend New Hire Orientation Program and New Leader Supervisory Orientation Program.
  • Manages two Training Specialists to communicate, schedule, and deliver weekly Orientation, Mentor training, and 15+ management training classes. 
  • Manages the successful completion of state-required classes of Title 31, Serve Safe, and Responsible Gaming by all Team Members on annual basis. 
  • Administration of the Learning Management System and Performance Management System.
  • Partner with Human Resource Leaders in administering the performance review process. Partner with Human Resource Leaders in administering the Employee Opinion Survey.
  • Partner with Human Resource Leaders in administering the 360-degree Management Assessment Process in the Learning Management System.
  • Partner with Guest Service Manager to ensure the understanding of the Company’s mission (Be the Dominant Regional Gaming AND Entertainment Experience), vision, values (Clean, safe, fast, friendly, fun), and service standards.
  • Coordinates with the American Red Cross to offer Blood Drives in the Training Room every two months for all team members. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
