Job Description

FUNCTION

Efficiently and effectively meet the information needs of various departments.  Maintain System Infrastructure including Physical and Virtual environment.  Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system.  Performs upgrades to hardware, software and deployment of new hardware and software technologies in compliance with internal controls, policies and standards.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Planning configuring, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and providing end-user support for LAN hardware, systems and peripherals, pc’s, printers, Ethernet hardware and cabling systems.
  • Installs new and/or expands existing personal computer based systems.
  • Determines required software and hardware in conjunction with end users.
  • Programs or selects suitable software to meet user requirements.
  • Installs new and maintains existing hardware.
  • Provides problem-solving support to customer users.
  • Develops and maintains telecommunications systems.
  • Ensure data integrity by keeping system security rights up to date at all times.
  • Learn specific software applications and become expert on all systems. 
  • Responsible for training of system users on proper usage of software and assisting in the daily functions of the department.
  • Adhere to established department and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
  • This is a non-uniformed position, which requires the team member be in compliance with non-uniformed appearance standards while on duty.
  • Maintain knowledge of developing technologies by reading professional literature and attendance at relevant training sessions, conferences and workshops.
  • Train end users on system and continuously evaluate the system users training needs.
  • Work flexible hours including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays including but not limited to participating in the on-call rotation program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements 

 

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to assume responsibility for independent/self-directed action.
  • Strong guest service skills.
  •  Must have strong time management skills.
  •  Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to share or divide attention among several ongoing activities, projects or assignments.
  • Ability to interpret and explain company policies and procedures to others.
  • Ability to follow all policies, procedures, and regulations including but not limited to attendance, appearance, safety, and security policies.
  • Ability to identify circumstances or incidents that require the notification and approval of others.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays, must be able to participate in the on-call rotation program.

 EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience required. 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field would be a plus.
  •  Minimum of 4 years’ experience in IT.
  •  Advanced Knowledge of VMware environment a must
  •  Working knowledge of a SAN environment
  •  Excellent technical, complex problem solving, interpersonal, oral & written communication skills.
  • Technical certifications desirable.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate license for position as determined by Maryland Lottery & Gaming Control Agency.
