Job Description

SCOPE AND MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

Cooks and prepares the food for the Asian Restaurant and other Asian food outlets on an ad hoc basis.  Assures that guests have a favorable dining experience.

CLEAN – Responsible for ensuring overall cleanliness of the dining outlet front and back of house. In addition, maintaining a clean and crisp uniform and clothing at all times.

FAST - Responsible for implementing systems to ensure established service time goals are met consistently in the dining outing. In addition, maintaining efficiency and accuracy.

GENERAL

  • Responsible for preparation of all hot and cold food items and maintains the proper temperature of the items.
  • Responsible for seasoning and garnishing all food.
  • Responsible for preparing all soups and sauces served in the restaurant.
  • Responsible for keeping the cooking area clean and in an orderly state.
  • Maintaining inventory and ordering/picking up from storerooms and stocking items on a daily basis. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements 

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Culinary arts courses or the equivalent experience.
  • One (1) – three(3) year's experience as a Line Cook in a fast-paced quality Asian restaurant.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to use all kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Ability to read and write basic instructions.
  • Knowledge of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Ability to be creative with cooking and food preparation.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe handling of food.
  • Knowledge of fi/fo (first in/first out) system for the storage.
